The Reef at North Cape is the longest natural rock
reef in North America - the site of many early
shipwrecks - you can walk out onto the reef at
low tide and witness the "meeting of the waters"
as the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Northumberland
Strait converge as the tide moves back in. Ideal
for seal watching!

Visitors can walk out a half a mile onto the reef at
low tide, watching and enjoying the many sea birds,
marine life and seals relaxing in the sheltered waters.
When the tides rise, witnesses can view the “meeting
of the waters” as the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the
Northumberland Strait come crashing together.
