Cooler Day Plan 3
1. You're on vacation...sleep in!
2. Enjoy breakfast as you chat with other guests in our dining room, The staff would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have about the Inn or the area.
3. Grab your camera and do a driving tour of the area. Here are a few suggestions, we're sure you'll also find your own points of interest along the way: Visit Skinner's Pond and the Stompin' Tom School House. Yes, Stompin' Tom Connors really attended this one -room school. Along the coast the beaches offer a panoramic splendor at any time of the year. Continue on to Miminegash, a small fishing village where you will find the Irish Moss Interpretative Centre and the Seaweed Pie Café. After you've checked out their gift shop and viewed the video presentation of the harvest and processing of Irish Moss, have a light lunch at the Seaweed Pie Café. Don't forget to sample a piece of their famous sea weed pie (it's delicious). If you take a drive down to the shore, you may actually witness the harvesting of Irish Moss, ask some of the locals! Stroll along any of the harbours and watch the fishermen unload their catch of the day. If you're lucky you may witness the landing of a Giant Bluefin Tuna at Tignish Run. Most of the fishermen would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Some may even be willing to take you for a sail in their boat! On your way back to Tignish , you may want to visit Country at Heart Craft Shop and the Antrim Sisters Gift Shop. You will find many gift ideas for souvenirs of P.E.I.
4. Time for dinner again! When the lobster are in season you may wish to have a good old P.E.I. feed. Take a drive to Royal Star Foods Fish Mart and purchase your lobster live or cooked. If you want to cook them yourself, staff are quite willing to give you some pointers. Before you leave Royal Star with your dinner, perhaps you would like to tour their facility, and find out how seafood is processed and meet some of the workers.
5. Enjoy Lobster you cooked yourself!
6. After dinner relax in your room or slip over to Danny's Gym for a workout. After driving and eating all day some exercise may feel great!
7. If you're a bingo fan, there's bingo in the village almost every night of the week. There are kitchen parties at the Legion on Tuesday nights, where you can listened to some local talent and sample some Acadian cuisine. There are always events planned during the summer months such as dinner theaters and plays, ask the staff for more details.
