Cooler Days

Cooler Day Plan 2

1. Rise and shine! Take a brisk walk in the fresh crisp morning air, then join other guests in our dining room and enjoy a leisurely complimentary continental breakfast of cereal, muffins, toast, fruit salad, juice and tea or coffee.

2. After breakfast try hiking, biking, or birdwatching on the beautiful Confederation Trail which begins in Tignish and ends in East Point. It is 127 km long from tip to tip with many breathtaking displays and rest stops along the way to have your picnic. The Confederation Trail is the P.E.I. portion of the Trans. Canada Trail, which connects all of the Canadian provinces. In the winter time the trail is solely for the use of snowmobilers, so if you're an enthusiast come stay with us and tour our great Island in the midst of the winter snow!

3. Visit the Tignish Cultural Center and stroll through our interpretive centre to discover how the Tignish area evolved through time. It's fascinating to see the history and culture evolve as the years go by. There is also a visitor information centre in this building. The staff may have some more suggestions for you!

4. Visit the studio outlet/gift shop at Holiday Island Productions and receive a free guided tour of the facility. This is a great place to pick up some locally made Island souvenirs. They can even ship them home for you if you don't have room to carry around extra items, your craft will be home by the time you get there!

5. Stroll through the village and chat with local residents who are more than willing to take time to share information on the area. Shop for supplies at our local Co-op and prepare your own dinner in our kitchen or come back to then Inn and make reservations at one of the local restaurants.

6. Don't forget to bring your camera and a sweater for your tour of North Cape. You can stroll along the newly developed Interpretive Eco Trail along the Black Marsh and learn about stones, plants, and seabirds that are native to the area. Witness the meeting of the tides along one of the longest natural rock reefs in the world! The tides of the Northumberland Strait and the Gulf of St. Lawrence actually meet here. When the wind is high, it is a spectacular display! Watch the sunset before you return to the Inn, the colors that brighten the sky are breathtaking. On P.E.I., we have sunsets like no other place on earth!

7. Settle in for a restful nights sleep as you anticipate what tomorrow will bring!.
