Taxes and Fees

Property Taxes

All property assessments are completed by the Department of the Provincial treasury and are used both by the Province and the Municipality to determine property taxes at the legislated rates.

Note: All rates are expressed as the number of dollars per $100 of assessment.

Provincial Tax Rate

Residential rate is $1.50 per $100 with a credit of .50 per $100 for PEI – resident- owned properties resulting in a net rate of $1.00 per $100

Commercial rate is $1.50 per $100

Municipal Tax Rates

Residential rate is 0.57 per $100

Commercial rate is $1.00 per $100

Utility Rates

Sewer rate is $180 per unit, charged quarterly.  Normally, a single family dwelling is 1 unit.

Water rate is $320 per unit, charged quarterly.
