Wyatt Heritage InnWyatt Heritage Interpreters

Wyatt Heritage Properties is a museum, archival, and cultural complex located in Summerside.  Youth Programming is offered at three of Wyatt sites on Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays starting in July.  There is a wide selection of programs to choose from or better still do them all as they are offered on a rotating basis.  Examples of youth programming are:

Pirates and Treasure:  Pirates are part of our Maritime history. Youth will be recruited for the pirate’s life and should be prepared to swing the rope and walk the plank ... not for the faint of heart!

Bread and Butter:  Youth learn why bread is called the staff of life. They will make it from scratch and smell the incredible aroma as it bakes and make their own butter to slather over the top of the freshly cooked bread.

In the Attic:  The attic of the Wyatt Historic House is off-limits to visitors of the house. But for this special occasion youth will be allowed to climb the stairs and see what is hidden from public view. There they will try to solve the mystery of unknown artifacts and the role they once played in the life of the Wyatt family. A surprise artifact will lead to making a delicious treat.

Metal Work:  Youth will make their own metal project while learning the history of metal.

Candle Making:  The art of sand casting to make candles always fascinates children as they learn how early settlers put light in their homes.

Papermaking:  The old world art of making paper, youth style.

Art Parts: Discovery the elements of art while creating great projects.

Fox Tales:  Participants will learn about the beautiful silver fox and how it was raised on ranches.

World Travel: Participants will go back in time and travel the world with Wanda Wyatt on her 1929 world cruise that took her to over thirty countries.

Available: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, 1:00pm – 4:00pm
