Weaving with reed and decorating with your choice of bark from PEI forests or sweet grass from our salt water marshlands.
You will be taught by professional basket weavers who are connected
to a history that dates back to the late 1800’s here on P.E.I.
You’ll leave with a beautiful basket to remind you of your time
spent on one of the oldest known art forms.
Available: Tuesdays and
Thursdays until mid October. 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Fee: Adults $49 pp + taxes for a
biscuit basket Children $39 pp + taxes for a small basket (8 years
or older). (Minimum 4 participants)
Come visit with professional basket weavers and weave a Star of David -
a traditional Hebrew star woven with wide strips of local hand
pounded ash splint.
Available: Tuesdays and Thursdays, pre
booking required.
Participants will leave with their star
and knowledge of old traditional ash splint basketry and its history
that dates back to before 250 B.C.
Fee: $7.00 pp plus tax.
